Brake failure
A truck can also careen out of control on the highway if the brakes fail. Since the driver has no way to stop it, it will continue on the same speed it was being driven in until it crashes or comes to a natural stop by itself. However, if this happens on a steep incline, chances are the driver is not coming out of the ordeal unscathed.
