Claudia Lopez

Prior to her current role, Ms. Lopez served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for six years. During her tenure, she successfully handled thousands of cases from preliminary hearings to jury trials, showcasing her robust trial practice skills and litigation expertise. Her experience spans across multiple divisions, including trial bureaus, specialized crime units, and grand jury proceedings. Throughout her time as a prosecutor, she gained extensive experience in case preparation, legal research, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy.

A graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Ms. Lopez enhanced her legal education through participation in international study programs, focusing on Human Rights Law in Ireland and Immigration Law in Puerto Rico. Her academic excellence is demonstrated by her magna cum laude Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society.

Before her role as a prosecutor, Ms. Lopez demonstrated her commitment to justice through volunteer work at various organizations, including the Earl Carl Institute’s Innocence Project Clinic and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services, where she served as a Team Leader.

Ms. Lopez brings advanced Spanish language proficiency to her practice, along with extensive experience in legal research, case management, trial practice, and oral arguments. Her diverse background in both civil and criminal law, combined with her dedication to justice and client advocacy, makes her a formidable presence in the legal community.
