Drew Parma was born and raised in Galveston, Texas. He majored in journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation in 1985, he worked as a reporter, first at United Press International in Austin and then at the Waco Tribune-Herald. In 1993 he enrolled at the University of Texas School of Law, where he interned at the Texas Supreme Court; after graduation, he spent a total of five years with the Fourth (San Antonio) and Fourteenth (Houston) Courts of Appeals. He has spent the last twenty-plus years in private practice in Houston, where he has handled appeals to five different Texas courts of appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; his practice is otherwise focused on commercial and personal-injury litigation.
He currently resides in Pearland; he sends his two children to St. Theresa School in Memorial Park.
